Hey, Does anyone know if there are any other major differences in the PVR150 and the PVR150 MCE? At a glance the MCE comes with the MCE remote rather than the regular hauppauge remote (of which I have two already), and the MCE has an FM Tuner (a feature that I don't really care about). Does anyone know if these two cards compatible (driver conflicts)? Will the MCE run under XP Pro? The requirements specifically states that you need MCE, but I wondered if that isn't just some marketing ploy. Will the non MCE card work on MCE if I upgrade to that? I just bought a second PVR150 today, but afterwards I got wondering if I should have gone with the MCE card just in case I need the MCE remote at some point, rather than getting a third Hauppauge remote (to sit in the drawer along side the second one).

Sorry, I am sure that all of this is posted somewhere in the forum already. I am usually pretty good about doing my homework to avoid reposts, but I only had mere seconds to look tonight and the sale ends tomorrow.

Yes, I believe there is lots of info on this in the forum but I think you've pretty much figured it out.

In addition, the MCE version comes with only the drivers, no additional software (WinTV200, etc.) but you can get it off their web site if you want.

You don't need MCE, the 'MCE' card works fine in plain old XP. Also, I don't know if I'd consider MCE an 'upgrade'... Smile

The only difference I can think of is that the Hauppauge remote can be modified using the irremote.ini file in the Windows directory and it seems as if the MCE version needs something called HIP. In the end, both remotes can be modified but the various posts make it seem like it is harder to do with the MCE version.

The PVR150 is on at CompUSA for $40 after rebate, but the online store appears to be sold out. I got mine from the local CompUSA.

I have a PVR-150MCE and a PVR-150 in my system and they do work nice together.

I did have to make some system updates to get them to work nice together (I made a number of posts in the MVP forum here detailing the system updates needed) but it wasn't a problem with the PVRs or GB-PVR.

I have 3 different versions of the card in my system.
all use the same driver and all work the same.
as it is in the server, I no longer use the built-in remote reciever, and I dont use the FM either.
