Hi folks,

Short summary of post: If anyone's got a working set up with a Pace Telewest set top box controlled via a Red Rat, please can they tell me how they've done it !!!

Long explanation follows below:

I've got GBPVR set up on a dedicated PC with a Hauppauge PVR150 and in an effort to avoid insanity, I'm attempting to get it set up in stages.

Initially, with GBPVR using an analogue signal and just picking up BBC1/2 ITV & C4 (no channel 5 around here) everything worked fine - I've had the Guide working and updating, changing channel, making recordings, etc.

However, I then got more ambitious:

I've got Telewest cable with a Pace set top box and have invested in a Red Rat 3 to allow me to control the box from GBPVR.

If I use the configuration file from the Red Rat web site, I can use the Red Rat virtual remote control software to control the set top box, so I know the Red Rat and the box are compatible.

Oddly, if I record the signals from the remote control using the Red Rat software, the recordings won't control the set-top box, but as the pre-configured ones work OK, I don't know how much of a problem this is.

However, if I reconfigure GBPVR to take the input signal from the composite input on the PVR150 and use the Red Rat for channel changing, it doesn't work.

When I go to Live TV on the menu I get a picture from the set top box, but GBPVR doesn't tell the box to change channel - it doesn't seem to be sending any channel change instructions to the box at all (the LED on the front of the set-top box doesn't flash).

I've tried using the RR CLI command line utility to send the keypresses and this works for single key presses, but it is so slooooowwwww that the set top box times out between key presses if I invoke it multiple times to send the 3 digits and 'OK' that are required to make the box change channels.

Has anyone got a solution that works please?
