Howdy - I just downloaded the .99.5 after a installing a new chip/motherboard in my computer, and doing a fresh windows install.
I was excited to see YouTube on there, however, I'm not getting any sound at all (I do get just a blip of "electronic" sound at the start of the video, about .2 seconds worth). The video part plays just fine.
Using a Hauppage PVR-350.

The PVR350.mpg file created (when played via video library) does the same thing - just the electronic blip, so I'm guessing it's in the encoding.

I tried out LiveTV, and it works fine. Recorded mpegs in my video library work fine. Playing MP3's also works fine, just no sound at all out of YouTube.

Checked all my volume control adjustments and they're all above half volume, none muted.

Any suggestions on what to check next would be appreciated.

Thanks again for the excellent software, sub. Smile

A side note: I'm also not getting any NetRadio to work - it doesn't seem to connect to any stations, just keeps saying "Trying: [and the web address here]" (no firewall installed yet so that's not an issue). I think it's unrelated though and have yet to look into it myself.

You could try changing the -acodec mp3 to -acodec mp2. Maybe the 350 hardware decoder doesn't like mpeg with mp3 sound.

Things seem to work better using the mp2 tag. Some videos will play correctly (generally short ones around 1mb), but others still have a similar issue where only the first second or two of sound plays (but video continues to play).

However, this time when I manually play the PVR350.mpg video, it was encoded with full sound throughout the video, so it's now down to a playback-only issue anyway.

Still troubleshooting my Net Radio problem with little success.
(Manually downloaded a PLS file, put in Net Radio directory - and it locks up GBPVR when I go to play it. Others from Web Top 25 still not loading.)

Nice to hear it helped (a bit)

Sounds familiar to this one: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=23508

I am having the same problem. No sound for YouTube videos. I have tried the "-acodec mp2" but still no sound. When I play the PVR350.mpg file with Windows Media Player the sound is there.

Is there a solution for this that I have not found?

I would welcome any help on this problem.

Thanks Phil

Does it play "manually" in GBPVR. What I mean is this: When you ad the livetv buffer-dir to the video-library dir's in config-directories, it should show up in video-library. Try to play it from there.

I havnt tested anything on a PVR350 for a long time, but I suspect the answer is to replace -acodec mp3 -ac 2 -ab 128 with something like -acodec mp2 -ac 2 -ab 224.

Just to to make up for my sloppyness before: ( I was sure I pointed to the config.xml file but I must have been mixed up with .....whatever.)

These changes must be made to config.xml in the gbpvr-dir.
Look for this line:

Code:
<YouTubeFFmpegTranscodeCmdLine>-y -i "{SOURCE_FILE}" -b 3400k -acodec mp3 -ac 2 -ab 128 -f svcd "{DEST_FILE}"</YouTubeFFmpegTranscodeCmdLine>

Change it to:
Code:
<YouTubeFFmpegTranscodeCmdLine>-y -i "{SOURCE_FILE}" -b 3400k -acodec [B]mp2 [/B]-ac 2 -[B]ab 224[/B] -f svcd "{DEST_FILE}"</YouTubeFFmpegTranscodeCmdLine>
