Play avi from windows share and I get intermittant stuttering

HI,
I playback avi files using gb pvr from another PC using windows file sharing but I have issues with stuttering / glitches every few mins ( average 10 mins or so )
When I play the same files back using media player classic they play without incident , is there anything I can do to allevaite this problem?
The files are 350MB in size and are 40 min shows so I dont think its a bandwidth issue ( PC are connected via a 100M lan link thru a hub ) , is there something I need to tweak to sort this ?

I have a similar setup with my avi files on another machine.
However I use a switch instead of a hub, if you have a small switch available try that.

I had a similiar issue also.
It was because of a cheap hub.
When I plugged into my switch it all went away.
