Can MVP play DivX files?

I have been trying for quite sometime to get DivX files to play on my MVP...I have read that others are doing it...what am I doing wrong?

I have tried with the latest server software from Hauppauge and now with the GBPVR plugin for MPV...is there a trick to it?

Yes!
Look at the ZProcess plugin - it is great!

It cant play them natively, but it should be able to transcode from AVI to MPEG on the fly. This does require a fairly significant amount of CPU though, and I typically recommend a 2.4Ghz P4 CPU, but you might get away with slightly less.

There is a bug in the current config.xml file though, which may need a "k" added to one line. See http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=23626

Supply some more info on the divx/avi files you're trying to play and I'm sure someone can point you in the right direction, also as sub said a "fast" system is
a definite musthave.
I'm running a XP2400 CPU (2Ghz) with only 512MB ram and this will do for all the avi's I have, They're all 512x .... (depending on the format) and they transcode to MPG on the fly just fine.
