I'm using 0.99.5.
Live TV mode is ok and I used to be able to timeshift and record (dvr-ms).

Now When try to timeshift, I get one of two results:

1. Timeshift works the first time, but then if I exit timeshift,
then try to timeshift again, I get error message:

Error: object reference not set to an instance of the object

I also noticed that the ".tmp" files and .dvr-ms file in the LiveTV Buffer
directory are not deleted automatically
I have to kill the GBPVRRecordingservice.exe task to unlock these files.

2. SOmetimes, GBPVR hangs, or Crashes completely:

"GBPVRRecordingservice.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience"

and a message:

Failed to communicate with the recording service

Also, I get this message when I try to back to Live TV:

If try to go to Live TV:
Error: no connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

I can get back to timeshift working once again, if I end-task all of the
GBPVR processes ,then enter/exit config (which restarts the recording service and Tray).

This is driving me crazy because It used to work.
It seems like the basic timeshift/recording is working
but something is getting messed up and locking the file access.

Please help !!!!!

thanks

Reproduce both of these problems, then zip and attach the logs for each and I'll take a look.

I already did a system restore in WinXP and that seems to have cleared it up.
(I hope the problem does not happen again.... )

I would have liked to know what the actual problem was
because I tried several reinstalls of GB-PVR, .NET2.0, drivers,
directX, and messing with the Filters and nothing seemed to work.

I have some logs that I could send but I would not be able to try
any recommendations you may have ... so it may be best to
drop the request.

Sorry to trouble you and thanks again

Chris
