I've searched the forums and haven't really been able to find an answer to this question. I have DirecTV. The sat box is hooked up to the composite input on my PVR-150. This, obviously, means that I can only record/watch one program at a time. However, I can receive my local channels over the air with an antennae. Is it possible for me to record/watch one program coming from the composite input (the directv box) and record/watch another program coming off of the antennae hooked into the PVR-150? It would only require tuning of one program (the over-the-air content) as the other program would be actually tuned by the directv box. This seems possible to me, but I can't seem to figure out how to get it done. Am I wrong?

Sorry, there is only one encoder on the card, so you can only use one at a time. You'd need two cards to do what you suggest.

Wow, thank you for the quick response. Would it be possible to somehow pass the raw video through for software encoding?

No, its more than just the encoder. The card hardware and drivers are only capable of doing the one thing.

If you have more than one composite input on your tv, it seems you could hook the direct tv to the PVR and the tv. (This does usually make the picture darker unless you have a HiZ input). Same goes for the antenna.
Might take a little time to explain which source is on what video or antenna in, but it would get everything you want.
Or buy another card..

Thank you sub/pastro. I did what both of you pretty much suggested and just bought another card. Now I can finally record and watch two seperate programs (assuming at least one is on a local channel). Thanks again.
