For some reason the recording I did tonight had no sound (which made the last 2 hours of recording a great waste of time). I have no clue how to even control the damn audio for the PVR150 card since nothing is installed for the piece of shit. How can sound suddenly stop working? My last recording a few weeks ago was fine. Nothing I do to the sound in my Windows mixer panel makes a difference since I'm using the LineIn on the PVR150 card itself. Is there something in gbpvr that could have been modified? thanks

PVR150's seem to be a bit prone to lack of audio problems. Seems to be some driver issue.

I dont have any fix for you, but you could try a different set of drivers, and hopefully you'll find some that are more reliable. ...yeah I know, not a very useful answer.

some have this problem (only PVR150) others don't, it's related to the initialization of the pvr150 card/drivers.
A workaround is to startup the hauppauge WinTV app, shut it down again and sound should be fine.
Be aware that this should be done every time your GBPVR server has rebooted or shut down.

I've decided to start bothering Hauppauge on this problem as there seem to be a lot of people having this problem. To gather some ammunition, can all of you with the same problem let me know the following information about your setup:
  • Operating System
  • Hauppauge serial number
  • Hauppauge driver version
  • Anything else that you think might be useful
