I hope it is not a stupid question...

When I record a show on GBPVR, it gives the channel name and some numbers. When I go to my directory where my recordings are stored on my hard drive, I change name the to whatever I like. Now when I browse thru my recording in GBPVR, are those files taking up space on my hard drive or is it just a reference to what I recorded? I see the former file names but do not want to delete if they have ties to my videos.

Thanks.

I'm sorry, When I do a Manual Record GBPVR gives it a default file name. ( 300 HBOE_20070226223000 ). I know that it represents the channel name and date and some other info. Now when I go back and edit the file name in the directory where all my files are stored, I can still see this file in my Recordings menu. I changed the file name already but under the "Recordings menu" it still shows up with the 300 HBOE_20070226223000 file name. Now if I double click on the file listing it gives me two options "delete or exit" If I was to delete it would it clear my renamed file? Does it still link to the file that I renamed?

it will not clear the deleted file because it doesn't know where it went. It does not link to the renamed file.

Normally the recording would be automatically removed from the Recordings screen, since GB-PVR assumes a missing file (renamed in this case) means the user manually deleted the file. To stop this occuring, you must have set <AutoRemoveMissingRecordings>false</AutoRemoveMissingRecordings> in config.xml some time in the past.

As -Oz- says though, it doesnt know anything about that new file name, so it wont delete that file.
