Must run Win32 to initialise PVR-150 before GBPVR

I'm sure this is here somewhere, but I can't seem to find the search terms to find it. When I reboot or start my machine, I cannot open GBPVR immediately....I'll just get static, as the PVR150 doesn't seem to be awake. So I open WinTV32 for a few seconds, close it, and then open GBPVR and all is well.

Is there something I'm missing in the config or initialisation that will make the PVR150 wake-up without WinTV?

This is running XP Pro with a Hauppauge PVR-150...thanks in advance!
