101 Lesson on Settop box configuration?

Hi,

I am looking to connect my card through the comcast settop box and want to controll the chanels through the settop box remote. Is there a way i can tune channels thru GBPVR so i can run Scheduled Recordings.

You'd need an IR blaster for GB-PVR to be able to tell your set top box to change channels. The exact set up would depend what IR Blaster you ended up getting (MCE, USB-UIRT, IR200L, serial cable, etc).

If you have a dct6200 or better (HD) you can tune via firewire and record unencrypted channels through firewire as well:
