I have the Volume OSD plugin installed, and am trying to figure out where I can change how much the VOL+ and VOL- changes the volume. I've found it before, but for the life of me can't find it again. It's set to 5% change right now, and I want it lower so I can have finer granularity control of volume. I used to have it at 2% when I first installed GB-PVR, but can't figure out how I changed that amount.

I cant think what setting you're thinking of. There isnt anything like that.

From memory though, there is more steps if you're using the local volume rather than the master volume.

What causes it to be at 5% then? Or is this a Volume OSD plugin issue?

I'm not quite sure where you get the 5% value from. When you use the master volume setting its hardcoded in the app to do +/-2%. So if you have the volume turned right down, you need to press the right arrow 50 times to get to the maximum value.

Some combinations of setup/remote may generate these key messages twice though? 4%?

The plugin knows what the min and max values of the volume should be for the various configurations. It then converts that value to a percentage. Before version 1.6 a linear interpolation was done resulting in uneven jumps in the % since these volume values are logarithmic. After version 1.6, the logarithmic nature of these numbers was taken into account in the calculation resulting in even jumps in the % between volume changes.

If you download the code, I commented that calculation extensively as it wasn't self-explanatory. As sub suggests, counting the number of steps to move across the entire range is the best way to test this.

If you enable the volume plugin in config.exe and play some audio [eg. net radio], you can see current volume the numbers in gbpvr volume plugin's test screen.

my volume changes either 4 or 5% with each volume button press. I know it used to only take 10 button presses to go from 0 to 100%. I remember playing with percentage change values for button presses. I've also noticed that at 0% I can still hear the TV.
