My wife has very bad eyesight so I have spent a lot of time fiddling with this.

I use the skin plugin from here:

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Skin/CommunitySkin

Within the plugin I have chosen the Sassari Hi-Vis text. It give the best visibility without messing up text placement within GBPVR (very much). I also found that using a black/white setup works best. See screenshots...

It is included in the community skin. The community skin is a collection of themes and skin graphics. Download and install it. Set it as you default skin.

Then download and install the skin plugin. This lets you customize all the theme/skin settings within GBPVR.

I created several default Hi-Vis themes for the Community skin, but like|)uffman said, you can customise backgrounds, buttons to suit your tastes.

There is also the Flat-Blue High Visibility skin on the wiki that is good also.

I like this one.
It looks good & the wife can read it.
It does wrap the channel numbers as a trade-off, but it's a good trade-off for me.

Most of the Hi-Vis themes I created use 16pt as much as possible.

tipstir Wrote:How large do you want the text size to be? Most are 11 to 12 points. In the 16:9 skin you're looking at 14, 15, 16 some 20 points. To make these fit into the slots you might have overbleeding..

the default hauppage text size actually looks best to me...pretty huge. again, this may change once i get a bigger tv.

saw in ur profile u had mvp connected to hdtv? how'd u do that? just s-video? does it make display on hdtv jagged?

I played around w/ the xml files to increased the size of the fonts. They're huge..... If u want to try them out, just unzip the files, copy the the files to their directories and rename them to the correct file names:

C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\FBHV - Classic Icon
C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\FBHV - Classic Icon\tv guide
C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\FBHV - Classic Icon\main menu2
C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\FBHV - Classic Icon\music library2
C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\FBHV - Classic Icon\video library2

BaseSkin FBHV - Classic Icon.xml --> BaseSkin.xml
skin video library2.xml --> skin.xml
skin main menu2.xml --> skin.xml
skin music library2.xml --> skin.xml
skin tv guide.xml --> skin.xml

-The TV guide is pretty readable now 8-10 feet away from 19" tube tv
