Hi

I have WindowsXP and Vista installed on the same box and I want to be able to dual boot, yet retain a single working GBPVR installation regardless of which OS I am currently using.

I have installed GBPVR into initially XP and then later Vista and both are working. What I want to do is have both installations of GBPVR (ie the XP and Vista installs) work with the same single database, so that recordings made are visible and accessible regardless of whether I am running XP or Vista.

Is this just a case of changing the Data Source entries in say the newer Vista installation GBPVR Config.xml file so that it points to the earlier XP installation copy of the GBPVR database rather than just .\gbpvr.db3?

Cheers Mike

I obviously havnt tested this sort of thing, so I cant confirm if you'll encounter any problems, but in theory yes.

OK, I will test it out and report the outcomes.

Success, I modifed the data source entries in the config file in the Vista installation of GBPVR so that they referenced the earlier Windows XP installation gbpvr.db3 database location and it picked everything up correctly. All of the recordings I had made under XP are visible and the two recordings set for tonight also appeared in the guide as expected.

So I can now boot either Vista or XP and GBPVR works the same in either OS with recordings made in one OS visible when the other OS is running.

Perfect...
