How to add new Video extension to gbpvr

I've get German learning Videofiles for my wife from a friend, but gbpvr doesn't recognizing the *.dat extension, how can i add this extension to gbpvr.

I'm sure somebody else had ask you this question but it's so boring for me to read and understand all the thread's with my poor english, please forgive me.

Sorry, its not currently configurable. I'll try to add this for the next release.

.dat? If you're lucky, than these are just MPEG 1 Files (from VideoCD). Just rename them to ".mpg" instead ".dat".
Then try to open with the Windows Media Player. If they play, than it should be played well under gb-pvr.
