Wife is on holiday for a week, so I thought I might spoil myself with an extra tunercard.:p
I put it in, installed the drivers, started gbpvr config to add capture source, entered all the frequencies for the channels. And.....bingo it worked.Smile Started telling myself how wonderful life is, how good I am etc etc (no-one else around to do that:o ).
I do some testing recording a channel while viewing another, everything is working fine.
Then suddenly after ~30 mins nomore picture, just snow or blocks or whatever, on the new 150.
Re-install drivers, change cables etc etc.
I start thinking the thing has died, last attempt: let's try the tuning assistent..........hey bingo it works.
Some serious thinking.......it turns out I had entered the frequencies wrong (forgot one zero at the end). Still don't know how it worked the first 30 mins, but I'm very glad it works again. Pheeeew

This was not the end of all misery:
I thought the recordings needed a bit more sharpness.
I started the hauppauge tweaktool,...... and then my audio was gone in the recordings.
Took me a lot of work to get it started again.
Later I went to Amontillado's website, to see if there was a newer version maybe. There it was: http://www.cask-of-amontillado.com/htpc.html

Quote:
Please Note that with the recent pvr 150/500 driver (higher then 23074), the audio settings have changed and therefore don't work anymore. I will, as soon as I have some spare time update the tool, but untill then I highly recommend that you don not use these setting, please refer to the registry website for the update reg keys.

I seem to have it all working now, made a system restore point right away and made a disk-image too, just to make sure.

I took Amontillado's advice: just changed a registry-key.............audio gone again.
Did a system-restore:.............no audio. Wanted to turn off the server completely and then start it up again, but first tried Wintv2000: ...audio ok, and audio back in gbpvr aswell.
I remembered the first time I lost the audio, I only got it started after I had installed wintv2000.

It looks like this problem, doesn't it:

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=24122&page=4

Gkar did you solve this, did sub's last suggestion do any good:
Quote: You could see if updating the direct.ini file to set (both) the PVR500 sections to INIT_MODE=DEFAULT makes any different. I doubt it'll help though.

Edit: Althoug: I don't have 2 pvr150's, I do have to set the 150 as "device no 1" and the 350 as "device no 2".

I tried the changes in Direct.ini, didn't help. Every time I reboot I loose the audio. However, all I have to do is start wintv and the audio is back.Smile
