I've recently graduated and moved back home, so naturally I had to log into zap2it and make a new channel line up for my new location.. however after i emptied my line up and added a new one, then updated the epg... all of my channels are completely screwed up.

any idea how i can just wipe this info clean and start new?

The easiest cleanup is probably removing your capture sources and recreating them.

Have you tried to delete the gbpvr.db3 file and create a new gbpvr.db3 by using the 'empty.db3'

If deleting the database is not preferred, then I might be able to help.

I have written a program (OK, in the process of writing) that should really straighten out your schedule and channels for you.

The problem is that it's really rough, and I wasn't going to release it yet... But if you promise not to deviate from my instructions in using it, your lineup should get straightened out...

Promise?

Try deleting the gbpvr.db3 (back it up first), then take a copy of empty.db3 and rename it gbpvr.db3. Setup your capture sources again, then use the 'import recordings' to and select th recordings-dump.xml file in the gbpvr directory.

what other settings will i lose if i delete the db3?

also -- isnt it about time GBPVR had some other way to "import" recordings other than from a recordings_dump

even if it's just importing video files... it's so annoying trying to keep seasons of shows together when i may have "filled in" a few episodes through other avenues other than recording.

Yeah what sub said. But my program does all that for you, plus more... If you're interested, we should probably pop out of sub's support forum...

It doesn't do it yet, but I'm adding the 'add to db' function to do just what you said...

Pretty much you capture sources, channel lineups, and recordings. All the other settings are in config.xml, and will be retained.

There are utilities that do this on the wiki if you need this. I havnt seen a need to build anything other than what is already built in.

It'll leave 'ready' recordings in place, but you'd need to recreate and scheduled recordings.
