Hi Folks....

Any advantages from switching from windows 2000 server to Windows MCE 2005?

I am upgrading my HTPC...case, hardware etc... would I gain anything.

MCE is basically XP Pro with Microsoft's PVR add-ins. If you're gonna switch, I'd just go with XP. Home will also work and is cheaper. If you plan to stick with GB-PVR, there's no reason to go to MCE, either XP will work just fine.

Seems like the question isn't answered, and I guess it has interested me since I had thought about using a Windows 2000 server box to run as a gbpvr server (i currently us xphome as the server and it works well, but I have a couple of available win2000servers that I could use). So maybe a better phrasing with my interest twisted into the question is: "Are there any disadvantage to using windows 2000 server as a gbpvr server?" I am assuming that there might be issues with tuner card drivers?
