Not sure if these are wishes or how-to requests....

I would like it if the OSD did not come on during pause. I am happy with OSD coming on at all other times but I often pause a video because I'm trying to see or read something - The OSD gets in the way (especially during "Basic Instinct 1" last night - lol).

I have my skip settings setup for skipping commercials - 60 seconds forward - 30 seconds back. I would like to assign much longer skip periods to two more buttons so I can quickly get back to the point where my girlfriend started talking.

I would love to have a screen capture function that worked from the remote. Press pause - press "capture" and the current frame gets dumped to a folder specified in config.

You should be able to press the blue key to get it to go away.

Are you aware that prefix the skip button with a number of minutes? ie, to jump foward 4 minutes, just press 4-skip.

How do you the number to jump back? It seems to me, the talking usually starts when she notices I'm watching a show that I like. I just can't predict when she will notice that.

type in a number then press the skip (either forward or reverse) it will jump that many minutes. |< or >| not the << >>.

If you notice a commercial break, press 3 >| and it will jump forward 3 minutes. If she starts talking press 2 then |< it will jump back 2 min. Then make a hrrumph sound and quickly look at her eyes, then the remote, then the tv, then the remote, then her eyes, go hrumph again. She should leave you alone (probably for quite a while!)

The more complete answer was: It should work with the renderer set to Overlay, VMR9 Custom or VMR9 Fullscreen Exclusive. It wont when you've got it set to regular VMR9 or VMR7 since these renderers are not able to update the screen in anyway unless video is playing. I'm guessing you're using one of these.

I think I use the regular VMR9 (think, because I'm not next to the PVR now).

I saw the instructions for this on the wiki but since it didn't work I thought it had been dropped at some point.

I am using regular VMR9 - I will try VMR9 custom later.

I had seen a post somewhere about entering the number of minutes to skip but I may have been using the FF button instead of skip - will try that too - Thanks Sub
