I encountered a serious problem when attempting to play x264-files.
While I can play these files using Zoomplayer or VLC, I get no picture from whithin GBPVR - sound is still there.
When I render the file in graphedit, it shows up just fine and plays nicely as well.
Any hints ?

It doesnt look like directshow is managing to automatically find a decoder on your machine capable of playing this file type.

VLC's wont be usable from GB-PVR, since it uses it's own built-in, non-directshow decoders. If it works in zoomplayer, then it sounds like there is a capable decoder on your machine, but for some reason its not installed in such a way to make it the default for that media type.

Thanks for the immediate response, guys.

It seems that ffdshow-settings have been the problem. I installed a new version a couple of days ago, and apparantly not all settings were preserved.
After I added GBPVR.exe to the 'use ffdshow exclusevily with' - list, everything is working as expected. I'm happy again !Big Grin

That 'use ffdshow exclusevily with' list tripped me up also.

I just got MainConcept H.264 Encoder, so now I can encode for HD 1080i things like that nature..

just to satisfy your curiosity:

these are TV-recordings in full PAL-resolution - converting them to x264 squeezes them to way under 1/3 of the original (mpeg2) size, which is fine enough for me.

Thank god I'm not the only one - I just knew it wasn't GBPVR's fault ...
