I hesitate to post this in 'support' when it's not really a problem and a new version imminent but.....

I've just noticed on one of my PC clients that there are empty directories on the root of the C: drive named just as they would be on the server (default of C: in config for recording directory). Client is configures as 'streaming'. The logs aren't valid as it was some days ago. Strangely, another, more used, client doesn't seem to have them.

odd.....

Are sure you hadnt previously had that client as a standalone installed, and scheduled a few fake recordings before switching to a client? The recording service still runs on a client machine, and would get as far creating the directories before determining the capture device isnt present - giving behaviour much like your describe.

I don't think so. The directories are dated fairly recently and after any playing around I may have done when getting client up and running.
That client machine doesn't have any facilities to import an EPG and certainly has never had any capture devices installed.
I'll double check tomorrow to make sure I didn't do anything silly like copy the database across and report back

Thanks the quick response

It looks like I've done something stupid at some time. The database is large on the client, so it looks like I've copied it across at some time. I'll copy empty.db3 over it and hopefully that will be it.
Sorry to trouble you.
