Do you have that minimal OSD setting set, as described earlier in this thread? As long as you havnt set that, then the OSD would normally show automatically as soon as playback starts. (saving you from pressing the blue button)

I tried the blue skin and the recording looks normal after the OSD pops up. Weird that the recording is so dark but I am satisfied with using the blue skin. Thanks for a great program sub.

I have the same problem with my recordings. They all are dark. I have tried all the different decoders and settings but the video is the same. The live tv looks fine.

Anybody got some answers?

If this is the same error that is discussed in this thread, then the darkness should go away once you have brought up the OSD - start playing the video, then press the blue button/ctrl-b: if that fixes it, change your OSD settings in the config so that "minimal OSD" is not ticked, if it doesn't fix it I'm afraid you have a different problem.

I have an Nvidia 6150 based motherboard with the 84.21 drivers, and directx is enabled.

Hi,

I've experienced the same problems with my 6150 and the 84.21 drivers. It has to do with the VMR9 Custom mode (I forgot whether I also had it in the FSE mode). Anyway, I switched to a more recent driver and although that gave me other problems Sad, the vertical stripes problem went away. I had good result with the 162.18 drivers and am now trying the 163.something (latest), which seems to be the same except for a completely changed user interface.

PS: Forget about the PureVideo decoder... I could not get it to play DVDs on my 6150 and could also not get rid of a terrible ghosting for my own recordings. I now use the MPV decoder (http://www.free-codecs.com) and that works fine for me.

I tried the MVP decoder and change my brightness and contrast. This seems to work fairly well.
