audio/video sync and video freeze

In gbpvr config, I'm trying to find the best combination of video and audio decoder settings. I still don't know which ones to have.

I've tried a few combinations and for each one so far, the audio and video is out of sync (with each other). One combo had video freeze that would happen throughout and last a second or two but I think I fixed that part.

If anyone has perfect sync and it is consistent, could you describe what you did?

My main problems right now is that issue and black/white picture.

OS: Windows 2000
Capture card: Hauppauge PVR 150 (1047 kit - listed on gbpvr capture card page) w built-in IR Blaster (receiver/transmitter)
Video graphics card: Sapphire Radeon X300SE
CPU: AMD Socket 939, X2 4200+
RAM: 2GBs

I don't think it's a hardware problem. My settings for the decoders are probably off or drivers are not working?

Anyway, my current settings in gbpvr config:
Playback:
Hardware decoder device - none - use software decoder
Software MPEG-2 Playback:
--open to suggestions on video and audio decoders--

Video Renderer: VMR9

Live TV: pre-play delay (ms): 500

Aspect Ratio Control: Standard (4x3)
