Hi All,

I am getting an error when I try to to play files recorded in gbpvr in quicktime pro. I was hoping to use quicktime to convert the files to use on my ipod. I am able to convert other mpeg files, just not the ones that are recorded in GBPVR. Am I barking up the wrong tree?

The error I get says that the video cannot be played because it is a type of file that quicktime does not understand.

Thanks!
Rich

I cant see any reason why you couldnt convert these files. I've never used quicktime though, but maybe it doesnt understand .mpg files?

It lets me open and convert every other mpg file I download from the web or have in my collection. It just won't let me work with files recorded in GBPVR.

Sorry, I dont know. I cant think of anything special about these files.

You sure it doesnt just handle MPEG1 files? These are what are normally downloaded from the net. Your recordings will be MPEG2 files.

MPEG-2 support for quicktime is available as an optional extra. See http://www.apple.com/quicktime/mpeg2/

Thanks for the info. That is exactly it. I can't believe that isn't included with qt pro! There's $30 that I won't get back. I'm not putting out another $20 for mpeg2 support.
