I just started using GB PVR and so far I am pleased with its recording performance. I am looking for a software where I can have one PC with all my tuner cards, and then watch and schedule recordings from other PCs. I am hoping that GB PVR can be this software with its Web Admin and Server/Client configurations.

Ultimately I want to implement both of these features, but I think that it would be easier if a started with the client/server config.

I began messing around with this over the weekend, and I am able to play my recordings without a problem when it is set to File Sharing, but I cannot schedule recordings from my other PC. When I select a program from the guide and select quick record, nothing happens and it eventually tells me that the connection timed out. I did a quick search through the forums and I found that in Windows Firewall Exceptions settings I might need to set the following on all my PCs that will be running GB PVR:

Name: gbpvr tcp Port:7968,tcp
Name: pvr Port:7647,tcp

Is this true for filesharing? Will this solve my problem with the connection timing out? (I can't try it out right now, I am at work)

If this solves my problem I will next try to get the Web Admin working. Is there a more detailed guide than the information given in the Wiki? Especially the port settings in my router and PCs?

P.S. I am getting the stuttering playback on both my PCs. I do not get this if I play the file through MediaPortal. Any suggestions?

reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

It'll most likely come down to the video decoders you're using.

Thanks sub. I will post the logs when I get home

About the video decoders, I will try different ones.

Does anyone know where I can download the cyberlink mpeg decoders?

Those are muxes, not decoders.
