GBPVR tray icon disappears

While in Vista, more than half the time after boot up, the GBPVR icon will not show in the tray. It is active and does show in the startup but it just doesn't always show where it should. I don't have this problem with any other icon and it doesn't matter whether I have it set to hide when inactive or not.
Anyone else in Vista experiencing this?

I am experincing this with XP and am looking for an answer also. Does anyone know about this?

I think I've had this too (XP), but I'm not sure. I thought it might have been that it died. But now that you guys write this it might just as well have been right from startup.

I use Slimm GB-PVR and have experienced this too. I found that I had to uninstall Slimm and then reinstall it each time to get the icon back in the System Tray.

The solution is for Vista users and for XP I suppose the Registry key to work in should be:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\TrayNotify

I'm not sure if its on the other web page, but the one I saw said its an XP bug and the workaround is whenever your icon disappears just log off and log back in again (Log Off on the start menu)

Hi,

I tried my network places hide upnp but that didn't work.

I then tried logging off and then back on again - not rebooting.

Tray icon came back.

WinXP SP3.

I recently changed ISP and they suggested I change the router to Disable UPnP. I have no idea if it is related but it was after that time that the tray icon disappeared!
