Is their a Search function in PVRX2? I have completed a fresh install of 1.0.16 and when I run PVRX2, everything works fine but there is no option for Search on the main menu. I checked Config and it is active. If I run GBPVR, the search is there.

If I install the Searchwiz plugin, it shows up on the PVRX2 main menu. Do I just need to use this or is there a native search?

Yes, but its not shown on the main menu at the moment. If you press the 'F1' key, or the 'guide' button on your remote, it'll show you the TV Guide. Press it again and it'll popup the search guide.

Using the F1 search in the TV guide does allow me to search for a show's name. But that list of matches does not allow me to see the times for those shows. I would have thought double clicking on it would allow me to see those show times or highlighting one and hitting F1 again. Is this available?

If you press the OK/enter button on a show name then it should show the list of times.

I did a further search and found an error in m pvrx2.exe.log. Each time I do I get the following log:

2007-10-21 14:05:28.359 ERROR [1] Failure in DoShowNameSearch(): IErrorInfo.GetDescription failed with E_FAIL(0x80004005).

If you originally install a long time ago, then you might be running the old MDB database, in which case you might need to run the ChangeDatabase utility to switch to SQLite.

The ability to schedule a recording from the search feature still seems to be broken. It brings up the menu to schedule the recording but nothing ever actually gets scehduled.

I've noticed that when the show I'm attempting to schedule
results in a conflict, and I choose in favor of the new event,
then it is indeed scheduled.

If there is no conflict involved, I've seen two behaviors:

- Silence, meaning that the scheduling appears to be accepted
and no error messages are given, but the event actually is not
scheduled at all. Must look in Recordings | Pending to check.

- Sometimes it appears that the show in the TV grid where the
cursor was located prior to my pressing F1 gets scheduled,
even though it has nothing to do with the search or the attempt
to schedule a show resulting from the search.

The F1 screen does not persist through multiple attempts to
schedule. If I have say 5 "hits" from a search, and wish to
schedule each in turn, I find myself returned to the grid
early, requiring a re-search using F1 to get back to the
search results and schedule the next-found show.

I find the F1 feature very valuable to check the week's programming
for general keywords like "history" or "travel." But it's a pain to
have to return to the grid from the F1 screen to make sure that
the desired shows are actually in the queue.

Oh, on a related topic, the red shading of grid boxes to indicate
the state "has been scheduled" is less than 100%. I've seen this
for the shading at the top of the columns (the time area) and also
for individual shows. Once again looking in Recordings|Pending
gives the true status.

All comments apply to the latest GB-PVR, 1.0.16. These are all
minor things, overall it's a super, super program.
