Hi

Sub, can you confirm that the analogue tuner in the HVR4000 is of no real use to GBPVR given that there does not appear to be an mpeg encoder on the card? I have both a Nova S Plus and the HVR4000 and the DVB-S side of things works great on both cards. I have Prime setup on the analogue tuner in the HVR4000 and whilst I can watch analogue (i.e. Prime) in Live TV without any problems, recording just does not work. I get a 3KB file and that's it.

So, is the analogue portion of this card of no use (as far as GVPVR is concerned)?

Cheers Mike

Yeah, thats pretty much the case. For this particular card, if you have Hauppauge SoftPVR installed, it'll try to produce a recording for you, but this usually results in an out of sync mess.

You'd be best to assume you cant use the analog side of this device.

I keep hearing Prime will be on DVB-T version of Freeview when it launches. Lets hope that's true...

Thanks Sub and Stustunz. Its still a very useful card - so yes, lets hope Prime does appear on DVB-T. Cannot imagine why Sky would take an FTA channel and effectively make it subscription based when viewed off the satellite. Guess that's what happens when the viewer is the "product" rather than the "customer" eh?
