Sub,

I realize that the plug-ins are written by independent people but as an end user I would like to see some consistency in how we interact with plug-ins.

The most egregious example seems to be that when working from a PC (i.e. not from a MediaMVP) to select an action requires either:

* A single click with the mouse
* A double click with the mouse
* Pressing the ENTER key on the keyboard.

Basically, I have to try the three actions until I find which one the plug-in's author wants to use at that instant.

I think that if a style guide were established and plugin developers were to follow it then there would be more consistency in the user interaction with the program and it would eliminate a source of frustration on our part.

Feel free to write one, or at least provide a set of recommendations. Big Grin

I've tried to be consistent with all the built in screens, and hope plugin developers would model their screens on those I provide, but the reality is I have very minimal control over how the plugin developers choose to implement their stuff. Its a decent suggestion, but I dont have much time I can spend focusing on plugin related issues - I think the only plugin I've ever seen in person is Weather plugin. I havnt downloaded or used any of the other plugins, so they're obviously not a big priority for me.

When I did the recent rewrite of the user interface I did provide new base classes that developers could use as a basis for their plugins, which would make them automatically share much of their behaviour with the Music/Video/Picture Library & Recordings screens etc, hopefully making new plugins much more consistent.
