I've been reading a lot in the last three days about GB-PVR and Xmltv in the hope I could get things going without posting a message here but I'm really stumped now so I hope someone can help.

I'm using a PVR-250 with the Direct Recording plugin and the Xmltv Plugin for EPG. Over the past 24 hours I've downloaded and installed I-Xmltv, signed up with Schedules Direct and tried twice to download listings from them. I don't think I ever succeeded in downloading any listings although the DOS box did indicate listings were being downloaded. Afterwards, I was never able to get EPG setup in GB-PVR. Could never find the TVGuide.xml file and no channels are listed in GB-PVR. I read about a problem at SD with the newest version of GB-PVR (which I am running) so I installed the patch but still no channels. A short time ago I was looking through some of the log files and I found the following statement repeated again and again throughout the log:

"2007-10-08 04:06:08.209 ERROR [5] Caught unexpected exception: System.Data.SQLite.SQLiteException: Unable to open the database file..." along with some additional information. Oh, the video part of GB-PVR works great. Have been able to watch a number of my MPEG files and have been pleased with the results. By the way, the OS is Windows XP Home, AMD Athlon, Nvidia graphics card, Asus A7V600 MB with 1 GB RAM.

Will greatly appreciate any help you can give.

the patch doesn't matter to you because your source should be xmltv. Then you point the epg to the tvguide.xml file. I believe that file is in c:\ixmltv or something along those lines. It should be whereever the dos script is. you could just use windows search to find it.

The absence of the tvguide.xml file is just one of numerous problems. That file should be in c:\i-xmltv as you said. I've checked that folder numerous times (as well as doing a Windows search) and it simply isn't there.

This sounds like an I-Xmltv problem rather than a GB-PVR problem. If its failing to produce an txguide.xml, then there is going to be no list of channels or shows for GB-PVR to import.

The patch only affected those using the built in Schedules Direct support, not those using external xmltv sources, so is a non-issue here.
