I have been using GBPVR for about a week now. I was loving it, but it has 'developed' a problem. Every time I start GBPVR, there is no sound. If I go to Windows volume control ('Play Control'), I find 'Wave' vol has been set to zero. If I move this slider, I get sound. Wave vol. will also set to zero whenever I switch between Video Library and Live TV and vice-versa. I don't have this problem with the Hauppauge TV app.

This did not happen when I first started using GBPVR. I first noticed problems with sound trying to fast forward recorded TV. I never actually got fast-forward to work – it might freeze then resume play (either with or without sound) or else crash GBPVR. Restarting GBPVR would fix it at that time, but now (after another crash), symptoms are as described above.

I have tried;

- Many permutations of – mpeg2 decoder, Audio Decoder, Audio Renderer & Volume Control under the Config/Playback Tab.
- Installing latest soundcard drivers
- Reinstalling GBPVR
- Doing a full System Mechanic 6 repair (this includes registry repair)

I would be very grateful any advice – I have hit a dead-end now!

Thanks

My system includes;
GBPVR v1.0.16
Windows XP SP2
Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T-500 (dual DVB-T tuner PCI )
Intel Core2Duo E6300
ATI X1950XT
Creative SB Audigy 2ZS

If you set the volume control to local in the config app, then play a video and hold down the right arrow, does the audio return?

I´ve had the same problem before.

In my case, it was because I set the "Audio Renderer" in config to a "Waveout Device", then GBPVR controlled that audio on windows mixer "wave audio". When I started GBPVR it restored the internal audio volume that was on at the time it was last closed.

If that´s the case, doing like sub sad before and exiting PVRX2 will make it save the audio at another volume.

BTW if you set the audio to a "Directsound device" it won´t have this "problem" anymore.

Yes, the sound returned. I had not tried the arrow keys before, just the volume buttons on my MCE remote. Perhaps it is not compatible?

Regarding psicotron3's comments, I have been trying both GBPVR & PVRX2 - was that the cause of my "problem"? Setting "Directsound device" didn't fix it for me, I tried that. Also, I was exiting GBPVR with sound playing, not volume at zero.

In other words - I still am not sure what caused the problem!

Thanks
