although it's not really fatal ...

Thanks for the help on my Daylight Savings Time issue, a 3rd party patch for windows 2000 fixed me up. gbPVR seems to be working fine now, but for 1 small glitch. When I start the program, a tiny dialog box titled "Fatal Error" shows up with a red X and the word "error". The program starts up fine, and seems to run w/o a hitch, but below is a section from the GBPVR.exe log:

2007-10-30 19:30:18.541 VERBOSE [1] getValue: /settings/LoggingLevel : Error
2007-10-30 19:30:24.409 ERROR [1] Unable to find node: /settings/SpecialElements/SpecialElement[@name="ForegroundTransparency"]
2007-10-30 19:30:24.449 ERROR [1] Unable to find node: /settings/SpecialElements/SpecialElement[@name="MenuType"]
2007-10-30 19:30:26.112 ERROR [1] Unable to find node: /settings/SpecialElements/SpecialElement[@name="MenuType"]
2007-10-30 19:30:40.813 ERROR [1] Unable to find node: /settings/SpecialElements/SpecialElement[@name="ForegroundTransparency"]

This is a straight install, no plugins (yet). Any ideas? I thought I'd try uninstalling and reinstalling but I'm not sure how to back up the database (no big deal I suppose, only 2 days of shows so far)

Thanks, and thanks for this great program. It's very easy to use.

Set the logging level back to debug and enable log flusing, then reproduce the error and zip and attach the logs.

The logs dont show any errors, but I'd start by deleting the contents of the 'plugins' directory. (back it up first though)

Sorry sub, no idea how I picked the wrong log file. I cleaned out my plugin dir (which only had 1 file, recordings2.dll) and restarted gbPVR. I double checked that this zipfile includes the logfile w/ errors ...

Sorry, I cant see any errors in there. (there is a few, but these are normal, and are just indications that the skin isnt using some option features)

Maybe you need to uninstall. Delete the c:\program files\devnz directory. Then reinstall.

Well, that did the trick! Don't know what happened, but it's gone now. I'm starting to suspect, though, that some of my difficulty is caused by having a machine w/ integrated intel i810 graphics that don't seem to support VRM9. I have to run gbPVR in video overlay mode, and some plugins don't appear when I run gbPVR on my machine but do work on my MVP (e.g XRecord). I don't mind this since I only use the MVP units to watch shows, but I'm wondering if I need to get a video card to keep compatible w/ gbPVR?

Thanks again for making this software available, it's hard to believe that only 1 guy writes this part time!
