I am new to the product... I have a Hauppage 150 installed. I installed the .16 version of gbpvr and it worked with the card - audio and video played after I added a channel manually. However, I was unable to download the program listings, so I installed the newer version of the GBPVRBackendCommon.dll file, and was then able to download the listings successfully. However, now I only have audio when watching live TV. Both GBPVR and PVRX2 are just playing audio - no video (black screen).

I've uninstalled/reinstalled the product and reverted back to the original version of the DLL, but I can't get back to a point where video is viewable in GBPVR or PVRX2. I've rebooted after each install/config change.

Oddly, if I run the Tuning Assistant utility, it finds all the channels and displays the video/plays sound correctly.

Anyone any ideas what I might do to debug this further?

I'm guessing you dont have a video decoder installed. What video decoders option do you have listed on the config app playback tab? If you dont have anything other than 'system default' then you probably dont have one.

You can download a decoder from here: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MPV_Decoder.htm

you need to select something under playback tab for video decoder
if there are no options there you need to add an mpeg decoder
to do this you can either load power dvd or the like
or http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MPV_Decoder.htm
then register the codec there are instructions on doing this
