Seems I sometimes can get the GBPVR to come up, other times its the default detting. Also when I do get the GBPVR to come up, when I choose a menu item, it goes back to the MVP "connecting to server" message.

Are you running an up to date copy of the MVP software? If not, you should download it from http://www.shspvr.com. GB-PVR will not work with the original MVP software that shipped with the device.

That could be the problem.

I have tried to update, but it seems to get stuck at loading application. Will try again

Hi sub,

I'm still trying to isolate the cause of my frequent MVP restarts too - if the version of the MVP software could affect the GB-PVR service, I should probably install the same version as you are using, to minimise possibilities for error (I think SHSPVR has version 2.2.22202, while the official Hauppauge site has the standard 2.2 version as well as version 2.2.22281)

The Hauppauge install.log indicates I'm using 2.2.22223.

Send me over another gbpvr.exe.log log file next time you get the one of these disconnects and I'll take another look.

As a complete newbie with GB-PVR it took me some while to find out how to reliably run the software. It is not written up anywhere easy to find, but I did find in this forum.

And the big secret is . . . . . .  . . . . "Turn the MediaMvp server to OFF."

And when I got it up and fizzing I was well pleased with the performance in most areas. Before I grumble about any of the things that don't seem to work well or not at all, I will dive into the forum for a good read. I am sure some of the answers will be there.

Has anyone resolved this issue yet. I've tried several versions of the MVP drivers. Currently running the the beta stuff from the Hauppauge site. Yes I unplugged the MVP. This mostly happens when the MVP is in live TV or a recording for a significant period of time. When I hit stop, or menu, the menu comes up, but if I try to go to the guide or live TV or probably any oither option, the connecting to server screen comes up but the MVP never connects to the server. The only way to clear this is restart the recording service.

The original Hauppauge software is not running.
There is 1 instance of the GBPVR.exe running.
2 instances if I start the PC version of GBPVR.
The PC version of GBPVR works fine even though the MVP cannot connect.
restart the recording service, MVP connects immediatly.

If this has not been solve I'll send logs to Sub, just did not want to waste his time in case anyone else knows the answer.

Thanks

Returning to the MVP screen that says 'connecting to server' is what happens with any error, so its not a specific issue but rather an indication that "something" has gone wrong. The last release resolved several of these "somethings" relating to fast forwarding on the MVP, but I'm sure there a still a few lurking bugs that can cause it.

I dont know exactly what the problem you describe relates to, but reproduce it then send the logs to me at support@devnz.com.
