I recently have taken an older pc that was just sitting there and finally tried to make a dvr out of it. I reformatted with Xp(sp2) and have installed the .net framework 2.0. Then to make sure my system was ready I tried to run the file on the downloads page that is to udate .net and MS runtime. but all it did was have a loading screen with C++ in the title bar and quickly go away. Any way I just went to assume that I was set anyway.
I installed gbpvr and immediatly afterward I was in the config util and it seemed to work fine. After that whenever i try to run it all i see is the splash screen and then it closes. Everyonce in a while gbpvr will load and give me the icon in taskbar. from there i can open the recording status and config util just fine. but if i try to open pvrx2 i get .net exception. I can run the tuner util and it will work fine.
There was one time I got it to load but there obviously were no channels loaded yet. so as instructed i clicked the update EPG button. all that did was make the cursor have the hourglass for a few seconds. Since ive never done it before i dont know if that is all it is or if i get a confirmation screen.
I have tried to do a reinstall and dont want to try a reformat considering its a fresh install. Thanks for any help.
