I have just set up gbpvr using my admin account on a multi account machine and am very surprised that gbpvr does not appear on any of the other users program/start menus. Is there an easy way to fix this - so any user can access the TV guide and set recordings etc. The pc will never be used to watch live tv - if that is he issue - and pobably won't be used for watching recordings, just for recording.

I have tried copying the 'C:\Documents and Settings\Dad\Start Menu\Programs\GB-PVR' stuff to the All Users section. Although gbpvr then appears on everyones menus, it will not launch - error message 'Problem with shortcut, parameter is incorrect'.

Is there an easy solution to this problem?

There is nothing built in to create a startup icon for all users. You should be able to create your own shortcut from any account that points to PVRX2.exe without any problems though.

I have slightly different question. On WinXP SP2 in order to restart PC and get to recording services do I need to disable user sign-in password? (like make a default user to log-in w/o a password) or recording services will be run on background even if nobody logged-in after restart? (Hope I did not complicated the question).

I’m planning to have a PC on all the time and let it go to sleep after sometime of inactivity. As far as I understand recording services will wake it up for the next recording

And the second question: is there a way to protect some of the recordings from my children to access them with a password?

And last question for today:
When I watch live TV I see that recording services icon changes from gray to green (status says “live TV”Wink. Is this means service is recording live TV for time-shifting mode? Can it be disabled?

thanks,
Vlad

No, you dont need to do this. It'll automatically start in the background without the machine needing to be logged in.

No, there is nothing built in for doing this.
