Hauppauge MCE Remote now working with HIP in Vista

Guys,

I have Windows Vista Home Premium with GBPVR 1.1.5. My remote is the Hauppauge MCE with the blaster. Some of the keys work right off the bat. However, most of them do not.

I installed HIP, I've used it recently in my XP setup with no problems. The issue is, HIP doesn't seem to be responding to the remote. I can see the light on the blaster when a button is pressed. But the pc just doesn't respond.

Anyone have any ideas?

have you selected the input device when you loaded hip
when you go into hip and add buttons does it learn the code when you go rescan or similar

I assume that since you have it running on XP you have installed the MCE replacement driver but have you installed the one for Vista.

I had the same problem. Turns out that there is a newer driver for Vista. Everything started working when I install the right driver. I don't have the link for it but will look when I get home tonite and post it when I find it. It was a thread on one of the other AV formus.

Thanks for the reply and the link. I did come across the MCEIR replacement and did install it on my Vista 32bit. However, were you able to get all the buttons working, including the standby button?

I am able to put the pc in standby, but not able to bring it out. Seems that the remote looses function once in standby.

I'm using it with EventGhost and remapping all of the keys to work with the keyboard commands i have set up. Works better for me that way.

I do get a response out of all of the keys in EventGhost that I have tried.
