I am using GBPVR with MVP on Vista successfully. Its a little more buggy than with XP, but I did finally get it to work using the mvpmc dongle. On XP, I used to use a direct connection from the PC to MVP, but am a novice at networking and couldn't get it to work with Vista, so I bought a bunch of network cables and wired everything through the router and that got me working again.

If we were comparing apples to apples (that Windows XP was the only difference between two instances and the XP didn't work and the problem was widespread) Yes, I would call it XP. But that isn't the case. You have a few users with problems that are using XP, and my guess is that their problems can be explained otherwise...not to mention that they aren't getting it to work with the exact same setup, only a different OS.

On another note, I'm glad you mentioned the driver. I suppose it could be the Vista driver for the network card. I can't remember for sure if it was a Vista specific driver, or if it was the same XP driver. I know it isn't the same Win2k driver (which is what I'm using now). In any case...let's wait until SP1 comes out and see if it doesn't make a widespread change in how the MVP works with Vista. If it doesn't, then I'm wrong. Wouldn't be the first time...and I'm sure won't be the last. I am not wrong very often, though. More interesting will be whether it works with the normal dongle...not just with the mvpmc dongle. We'll know in a month or so.

By the way, when I say "until SP1 comes out", the beta is out now. I'm just not willing to put a beta service pack on my production machine. If anyone has a secondary machine with Vista on it and would like to try out SP1 beta, I'd be interested in the results.

I'm still testing the OCUR for MS but did install SP1 on it (their system loaned to me) and about all I notice is faster boot times. I can't go into too much detail due to the NDA but all I basically do on that system is record thru the OCUR tuners (dual tuners) using Windows Media Center. However, I am using a special BIOS though I doubt that makes much difference.
FWIW, on my main rig with Vista, I'm waiting myself before updating. With all the negative SP1 talk, there seems to be some positive news about it here: http://blogs.zdnet.com/Bott/?p=336
