Ok,

it was recommended that I'll need to upgrade a couple of days ago, so I tried last night, with little success. I upgraded to the latest version from 99.12 (??) and ran GBPVR.EXE (not PVRX2) but I didn't get any of my old plugins showing nor any of the old skins. Is there a flag in the config to use GBPVR configuration?

I feel that I have to move some files over somewhere, but I have no idea what to do.

Thanks,
Jam.z

P.S. I really appreciate the fact that I can just copy my old GBPVR directory over and have everything back to where it was...makes experimenting a lot easier.

You'll need to put your old plugins dll's in their own dirs like

C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Plugins\Legacy

Then they will work.

I saw a recommendation that you don't copy your old database onto the new program as they are not compatible. There is a subdirectory of plugins called legacy and all plugins for the gbpvr need to be in that legacy directory.

My recommendation would be to update those plugins that have been updated to the new program. See list at http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugin/Plugin and click on the appropriate version. Then you only need to work on the plugins that haven't been updated yet and it may be as simple as copying the dll file to the legacy directory (but I haven't tried it so I am not sure)

Plugins in 1.x have to be put in two directories. They need to be in the gbpvr/plugins dir and then create a new directory in plugins and copy everything in plugins into this directory.
For example, create a directory called legacy in plugins and copy all files in plugins, into legacy.

I knew it...thanks all.

Now, are new plugins compatible with both gbpvr.exe and pvrx2.exe?

What about the skin? I'm still using the old community skin, how do I get that working.

Keep in mind that I just want to use gbpvr.exe for now...baby steps first. Thanks.

Personally I would go with pvrx2 first. GBVPR hasn't been updated in a while although it was very stable.

Plugins that are designed for pvrx2 are not compatible with gbpvr.
Plugins that are designed for gbpvr work in pvrx2.
