Hi,
was wondering if I could set up my laptop to work as an mvp!
obviously my main pc is serving the huppage mvp, so can it offer the same service to my laptop? if so would the laptop then be able to view and control the tuner in the main pc?

Eh, not exactly as an MVP.
But if you set it up in Client mode you share the DB and recordings and use the PVRX2 user interface.

How about a client/server setup?

I use the GBPVR interface on the main PC, via vnc, on the laptop to setup any recordings, and I use direct drive sharing to watch any recordings, even ones in progress seem to watch fine that way.

I use an ancient laptop as a "client" and it works fine for most things, but struggles a little playing recordings. It is slow and lacking memory though. Any reasonably modern one should work perfectly

I have a laptop set up as a client - I can access live TV, recordings, weather, video/music/picture libraries just like on the MVP. I use Enhanced Web Access (EWA) to search/schedule recordings (latest version is awesome).
