Codecs help

I have recorded items on my server and try playing back on the client. But the result is odd interlacing effects, possibly the fields are reversed but the effect is that on movement the image breaks into horizontal lines.

I think this is because the decoder is not the same as that on the server PC.

So the question is.

I don't know what installed the decoders on the server, is there a way to find out? I have cyberlink ones. Would they be installed with WinTV? How can I tell?
Is it possible to copy them from one PC to the other? and how?

Also

On the client - I have some Intervideo decoders but when selected they dont work - using gspot it says the files are missing - how / what software did they get installed with. I thought it was powerDVD but I have that on both PCs and it seems to work on both.

BTW - Now I'm getting my system together and its looking good, PVRX2 is great.

intervideo come with windvd
cyberlink come with power dvd
what video card do you have ?

if on crt monoitor make sur ethe output signal is interlaced in video card settings

Ok - thanks for the info.

I had 2 versions of powerDVD and I must have previously removed the winDVD. The intervideo decoders seem to work best for me.
