This is only halfway a GBPVR question, but you all are so smart, perhaps you can answer.

I have GBPVR on a machine (3.4GHz P4, XP MCE) I bought for my wife to play her CD's (ripped to mp3 and played with WMP). The sound card (built-in) digital output goes to the stereo (which has speakers around the house), and the analog channels go to the Plasma TV.

Since it is only one sound card, if I want to watch TV, we have to stop her music.

Can I put a second sound card in, connected to just the Stereo for WMP, or just the Plasma for GBPVR, and thus run both programs, both sound streams, through separate devices? If so, how do I specify which device GBPVR uses? Which one WMP uses?

Sure would help keep the peace.

Thanks

I believe that in the config on the tab where you set the video codec used you can also set the audio output or render (cant remember the exact name).
What ever you have windows set to use as the default sound card is what media player will use, so you should be be able to pick the card you want to use as windows default in the sound option in control panel. Then set the other card in the gbpvr config options.
I'm pretty sure that will do it, I cant test it because I'm at work right now

Thanks Bogyver, I bought some USB speakers for my laptop and everything worked on them except PVR.X2 which would only play through the laptop's speakers.I done what you suggested and PVR.X2 now plays through the USB speakers.
