Sub,

I posed a question in the XSuite forum about whether there is a fix for "blocky fonts". Kevl thinks this only occurs when using PVRX2 and he suggested that I ask you if you have any ideas about a fix for it.

I brought this up in the following thread http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=33118

I'm fairly sure the problem you're describing is because XSuite is an old style plugin, designed back when GBPVR.exe was the main user interface, and always rendered to a low fixed resolution (usually 720x480).

PVRX2.exe done away with that limitation and now plugins render internally to the same resolution as your desktop, giving the sharpest possible fonts. The plugins needed to be updated to support these new features though, or they would be run in a legacy compatibility mode and continue to draw their own screens as 720x480, which gives you these nice blocky fonts you see.

These old plugins that generate low resolution screens can behave a little differently in GBPVR.exe vs PVRX2.exe (depending on videocard etc). This minor difference relates to the way the low resolution screen is stretched to fullscreen. In GBPVR.exe they typically look blurry. In PVRX2.exe they can look a little more blocky (because of the way their videocard stretches Direct3D textures to fill the screen). Either way though, these screens never looked crisp and clear (unless you were running your desktop at 720x480 resolution). To resolved this, the plugin to be updated to support the new rendering model of PVRX2 plugin - this would give sharp clean text.

Thanks for the quick response. I'll report that back to the XSuite forum.
