I have windows XP set to large fonts and icons. However when I'm trying to look at the TV guide, it's just small. Is there any way to make it bigger?

The GUI for PVRX2 (sp?) looks a lot bigger and like it was made for the TV resolution. However I can't watch TV on it, it gives me some error about output settings incorrect.

I have a Hauppage 350, Windows XP, and latest version of gbpvr.

What am I missing? What is the difference between these two programs?

The font size is determined by the skin used. The Blue Retro SHV skin http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Skin/Blue-Retro-SHV is specially made for large fonts.

About the TV watching do you use the TV-out of the PVR350 or the video card? This needs to be set on the second tab of the config screen. I have never used a PVR350 so can't comment if you use this one. Otherwise you need to make sure you have the mpeg decoders insatalled. The default decoder is the same windows mediaplayer uses so if mediaplayer is able to play an mpeg GBPVR should do so too (via the video card).

pvrx2 scales the menus correctly for your chose resolution but unless I am very much mistaken you cannot use pvrx2 if you are using the tv out on the pvr-350.

Support for tv out on this card ended some time ago due to persistent hangs and crashes caused by bugs in the driver software. pvrx2 users output from their graphics card only.

I am using the S-Video out on my 9600XT as the video out on the 350 was atrocious. I tried MythTV, Mythbuntu, and the software that came with it, and everything look terrible. So I tried the 9600XT out and it looks fine. I just use a Y-cable out from my sound card to the back of my TV.

I tried setting in the config application, but I don't see where to set it. The error I get says I'm using the TV out on the 350, when I'm not. Is there a screenshot or something I could refer to?

Also, what is the difference between these two programs? The TV guide is too small with the default blue skin. The GUI with the other program is nice and large.

in config, playback tab, set hardware decoder device to none.

gbpvr uses a fixed resolution of something like (720x420). pvrx2 uses directx and scales images and fonts to the res of the display. if pvrx2 fonts look too small, you either need to drop the res of your display, edit the appropriate skin xml file to increase the font size or use a skin that uses larger fonts. see the community skin3 plugin on the wiki.
