Ok, I'm usually not a total nitwit regarding computer programs but...

Hope this is not something really dumb but I'm afraid it will be. I have no video card in my computer (it's integrated on the motherboard) but I thought the Win TV HVR-1600 TV Tuner which I installed was the only hardware requirement. I run XP Pro SP2.

Installed GBPVR 1.0.2990, Installed yapi2xml v1.2.6 and created xml file. I installed the .NET 2.0 and the Direct X as directed. Configured capture device and updated EPG. All the channels show up on the list of channels in the "Edit Recording Source" window.

But... when I open GBPVR the TV Guide shows nothing. Says that no channels have been set up, and that I need to run the config utility and hit update EPG - which I have already done. Okay so I do it again but no help.

Only thing that works at all in fact is the Search Guide option, which allows me to scroll through the tv programs alphabetically or search by text. When I click on the show, the information comes up correctly displaying channel, time, description. But if I try to record it says there's a conflict with another recording, that would require the cancellation of another show (not possible since I never scheduled any other recordings).

Also I have no idea what PVRX2 is although in my Start>Programs>GBPVR menu thats the only exe that shows up - I use the GBPVR.exe file listed in the Programs folder because thats the only thing that even remotely does anything, PVRX2 just comes up blank and then locks up my computer.

Here are my logs, any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Nick

Did you install into C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\ or somewhere else?

Can you zip and attach your C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\gbpvr.db3?

Yes, installed into C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\

Here is the .db3 file, I couldnt post it to your site because the upload program says it's too big (about 9 MB).

This is happening because you dont have any enabled channels.

You have setup a digital capture source, but you didnt do the 'map digital channels to epg channels' step. You need to do this, let it scan for channels, then map some of the channels found to those in your EPG. After that you should be fine.

Actually that wasn't it, because I did do the 'map channels' thing before - but...

I was setting the source as digital because the tutorial recommended that as a default with several of the Haupage HVR TV Tuner cards.

But your mention of 'digital source' jogged my memory of a conversation where Comcast told me that my cable service was not really digital even though the name of it was "Basic Digital Package". I reset the capture source as analog instead of digital and that did it.

Many thanks for your prompt responses.
