Not too sure where too start but here goes. It seems that GBPVR adds capture devices without me telling it to. I configure the system to the card (Hauppage 500 MCE, Ive never had success trying to get both turners to work and i did use the util. that tells which tuner is one and two) start PVRx2 or GBPVR and everything is great, watch tv record everything i want. well after I restart the computer it all goes to hell. I start the program but I cant watch tv and recordings dont start or even tell me there was an error. Next i checked the recordng status icon in the taskbar and it says that there are 8 capture devices. I go to the config and it only lists the one. I have to delete the capture source and start again. this happens every time i restart the computer.

System Spec.
Windows Xp Sp2
AMD Athlon Xp 2500 1.83 Ghz
1 GB RAM
Hauppauge PVR500 MCE

Reproduce the problem then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Thats what happens if the tray app is unable to talk to the recording service. This would be because either the recording service isnt running, or firewall/antivirus software is getting in the way. (this tray utility has spaces to show 8 device statuses, but trims it back to show the real status - in would case its never getting that status info so you end up seeing all 8 blank spaces)

if you want to add both tunner make sure you tick the box that says only show devices on this machine
it should show pvr500and pvr500with fm tuner

add a capture source for each
then where it says board number call one capture device #1 and the second device #2

then set up stations for each

What I said above is confirmed: either the recording service isnt running (you didnt include any logs for it), or you have firewall/antivirus software getting in the way.

Sorry I didn't get all of the logs the first time. attached are the ones i didn't include. I will try to disable the anti virus and see if that has any effect

Thanks

Check the task list at the time you get this. If GBPVRRecordingService.exe is listed, then your problem is firewall/antivirus software.
