THANKS! It looks like that fixed it.

Now, can somone help me set up a batch file to update the XMLTV file automaticly?

The wiki says add this single line:
call c:\i-xmltv\i-xmltv.bat

but is that the only line that should be in the .bat?

There is a possibility that I-xmltv is having troubles. It's not in development anymore, and if there are small changes to SD then I-xmltv might not roll with the changes.

You might want to try the generic xmltv.exe for Schedules Direct...
http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manual/EPG#toc13

and once you have this going, try UltraXMLTV Enhancer to enhance your listings.

As sub said, you need the capture sources configured to xmltv and it must be pointed to the location of the xmltv file that is created by the listings downloader...

When you hit updateEPG, it imports the data from that xmltv file into the GB-PVR database.

Sometimes, it works better if you 'fix the channels' this is a slightly longer process, purging several tables, and preparing for new listings. But then if you followed sub's advice and deleted the gbpvr.db3 and started fresh this will not be a concern.

In the gbpvr folder, there should be a UpdateEPG.bat if not create one.

In that batch file add that one single line

Code:
call c:\i-xmltv\i-xmltv.bat

That's it

thanks, I got it working. The video looks a little funny (not used to the mpg decoding). Looks like a cheap LCD tv. Not sure if I'll keep it going or not but I'll probably purchase the license for the year (hey, what's 20 bucks?) I did get the updateEPG to work (THANKS!) and everything looks like it's running smoothly.

One quick question. Is there a way to run my Rogers On Demand service through my PVR or do I have to switch back to my cable box when I want to use it?

Thanks for all the help. I'm glad I've finally got everything working ok. Although, the remote is going to take some getting used to.

Thanks again.

You will need to switch to the cable box to watch video on demand...

Most people will say that the picture looks better on the computer monitor than a standard CRT type TV. Looks better as in, seeing more details and seeing more flaws, etc... (yeah that means look better...) But when the mpeg plays on a TV, it looks like live (usually)

Anyway, if you think it looks like cheap LCD on your computer CRT monitor, which sort of reminds my of flicker when I first saw LCD screens a bunch of years ago, that probably means you need to get your MPEG decoder to deal with de-interlacing. THat makes the image run with out any silly flicker...

Actually, I have the pc hooked up in the living room. I only own 1 STB so that's the only place I can have it.

Can you reccomend any specific decoders?

It's in the eye of the beholder. I use nVidia PureVideo, but I paid for that, so I thought I'd keep using it. I had success with others. Any of them that have te choice for d-interlcing. There's another going that has that discussion.

I don't follow it
