Hi there, 1st new thread for me.
I would love to see a patch for live DVB-T audio stream to be decoded by PDVD Version 8. I'm one of the few who seem to have trouble with the audio quality on live TV (Auck NZ) using monogram V3, occasional pops & dropouts etc. The patch written to use PDVD8 for recorded programs seems to have got some great results. I gotta say this is the one issue holding me back from total family acceptance of our shiny new & expensive HTPC, & I would be more than happy to pay for an upgrade to PDVD8 and chip in to the GBPVD fund as well if this solution got me a solid DVB-T PVR solution.
I'm picking that it's possible for rad to release another version of monogram (which a lot of people seem to be having great success with) and that might answer some issues as well, it's great to have had that piece of software available.
I don't know how tricky this to do, and also acknowledge that it's only a small subset of your user base that would be affected - it's just a thought.

There is few reasons why its a biggish chunk of work to get the cyberlink decoder working with Live Tv.

I'm one of the few who seem to have trouble with the audio quality on live TV (Auck NZ) using monogram V3, occasional pops & dropouts etc.

See if setting <ForceAudioReferenceClock> to 'true' in config.xml helps.

it seems to have made a difference thanks.. at least MIB2 sounds ok right now. will update if I find any different. AJ

I spent a couple of hours looking into this yesterday. Its possible that we may never get PowerDVD 8 audio support for live tv. After invesigating, I found that Cyberlink audio decoder by default is only usable for standard MPEG1 Layer 2 audio. More advanced codecs like AC3 and AAC LATM are not enabled when the decoder is connected to any non-Cyberlink directshow filters. This is probably a licensing thing $$$, which obviously I'm not in a position to do.

At least we have a solution where we can play back recordings (using the Cyberlink Demux and Cyberlink Audio Decoder), and live tv (using monogram).

That's a shame, was worth a look. I'm sitting on the fence on PDVD8 at the mom waiting to see if the sync issue with monogram can be resolved. In the meantime, sound now seems to work a lot better !
