Strenght 0 quality 0 but dish pointing in the right direction?

I used a sat finder tonight and got the dish aligned with awesome signal power but both gbpvr and wintv don't find anything, its pointing in the right direction as far as my compass says but still no good.

The lnb is a 11300 so i set all 3 settings to 11300 and set to optus d1 (FTA), any other ideas as to what i might have done wrong?

those sat finders are pieces of crap
you may have it pointed at a satellite but it may be the wrong one

freeviewshop says point at 314.2 degrees, and its still pointing that way after the sat finder, can't check tilt as I don't have a giant protractor but I need to find some way to align the dish ... sigh

i use my freeview box and look at the tv
but i realise this is not practical

Try setting the switch freq to 11700, and putting both LOF1 and LOF2 at 11300.

Download the freeware program DVBDream, and see if it can scan in channels. If it can, then check your BDA settings in config. If it can't pull in anything, either you're messing up your LNB settings or the dish just isn't pointed at the right bird.

depends on the lnb he has i have 2 different types both work but one is 10750 and the other is 11300

yeah, he said his LNB has an LOF of 11300 MHz.. so I gave him settings accordingly.

ok i have all three of mine set to 11300
its probably wrong but it works
its a old sky dish sanyo brand lnb i think
but you may be right if its wrong he wont get a signal

dvbdream does not have d1 listed at all, I will get back on the roof and try again
