Titel says it all, no.

When tying to play MP3 files in the audio library, it wil only play Stereo CBR files and NOT J-Stereo CBR.
Some even say it wont play VBR files but i cannot comfirm this yet.

Im using latest version of GBPVR. and i installed K-lite codecs full version
Is there any way to solve this issue?

GB-PVR doesnt do the playback of the files itself, and instead just asks Windows to play the file. Assuming you have directshow decoders installed that will play these files then you'll also be able to play them in GB-PVR.

we are some days later now....
I tried to change many settings on the windows side, as on the gbpvr side too.
Without any succes so far.

Some mp3 files are skipped and not played at all.
I tried Directsound Filter Manager ... no success

This happens ONLY in gbpvr when playing specific (NOT ALL) mp3 files.
These files DO play well on the same box using other media players like WindowsMP Winamp ...

PLease help me out to pinpoint this problem.

As has been stated, GBPVR should play any file that has direct show filters installed. It certainly does play VBR & CBR JS MP3's.
This is the line in config.xml that enables audio file types in GBPVR:
<MusicLibraryExtensions>.*(mp3|wav|ogg|m3u|wma|ape|cda|aac|m4a|fla|flac|vox|ra)$</MusicLibraryExtensions>
I had to add |fla| into the list as some of my FLAC music files have a .fla extension insteads of .flac
The way you describe some tracks will not be played at all is the exact behaviour you get when there is no direct show filter installed for that file type.
Using codec packs is like cracking a nut with a sledgehammer. I think most would agree that it is always better to choose and install the exact codec needed for a file, instead of a whole mass of them. On my current system I have installed only FFdshow - which handles most video and audio file types, Coreflac for flac music, and the MPC & CoreAVC H264 decoders.
Try using Gspot to analyse the files GBPVR will not open. If they play in Gspot but not in GBPVR, perhaps you could post the Gspot analysis so we can see what decoders are being used.
Attached picture is an MP3 that has Joint Stereo (and plays in GBPVR). Gspot also attached.

GB-PVR doesnt do any part of the MP3 playback itself, so this isnt a GB-PVR problem. It will just come down to the directshow decoders etc you have installed.

To check if your machine has the appropriate directshow filters to play these files, download Graphedit (google for it), then run it and select the 'render media file' menu option, then select you MP3 file. If it manages to create a graph, and hitting the play button gives audio, then your machine has all the required directshow filters installed. If it doesnt manage to create a graph, then its not going to work in GB-PVR either. (gspot above probably gives similar info, but I thought I'd mention this mechanism I use to check this type of thing)

THATS what I call PROfessional help :-)
thanx a lot guys !!
Indeed, the problem was the mp3 file that needed an aditional codec for directshow.
Graphedit showed that it could not render a path to play the file, GSpot gave an error too.

Other mp3 files did play well, and they did render fine in Graphedit and info was shown in GSpot too.

So I needed a codec :-)
After some googling around i found an mp3 codec that solved my problem, only it loads the full file from my remote share at first before playing the file.
Now I know the problem is not related to GB-PVR ( as "sub" said before )

Ill search to improve the lagging part and replace that codec so all plays smoothly.

BTW: Im agree to "Pob", the nut is indeed very flat now :-))
Maybe an idea for you guys to build a custom codec pack with only the essential codecs needed for typical PVR use.

I had no idea to start when this problem came in. I think im not the first that finds digging into the system a litle too much to do (as we say "a bridge too far" )
Maybe a one click solution (codec pack) could help many users.

anyway: thanx once more Pob and sub
